Darmstadt - Elisabeth-Gemeinschaft Darmstadt e.V.

The Elisabeth Community has its roots in the Elisabethenstift Darmstadt, founded in 1858. The Elisabethenstift included deaconesses and the diaconal community. In 1999, both groups consolidated into the Elisabeth Community.

After the Elisabethenstift Darmstadt was re-structured, the Elisabeth Community took a separate path. Their physical home became a "Laden" (shop), which was inaugurated in August 2008. This is now the place where the diaconal work of the community is accomplished in various ways.
