Stendal – Adelberdt-Diakonissen-Mutterhaus Kraschnitz
The Foundation Adelberdt-Diakonissen-Mutterhaus Stendal was founded in Kraschnitz near Wroclaw in 1862. For more than 140 years, it has been a promoter of ecclesiastical social work, Diakonia, to help sick and weak people. Since 1998, under the roof of the foundation, hospice work was expanded in Stendal.
It was possible to find first volunteers and professional care was then started within the mother house with a single free bed for hospice work. The Protestant Hospice Stendal in the building at Haus Wendstraße 13 exists since the year 2000. It initially had six beds and has a total of eight beds in seven rooms since September 2006.
Under contemporary conditions, ministry to the people, the weak and the sick, which has been carried on by the deaconesses for decades is now continued by well trained nurses.
