Frankfurt/Main – Frankfurter Diakonissenhaus
The Deaconess House Frankfurt was founded in 1870. Today, the Mother House has 26 deaconesses, many of them retired. Besides the nursing home for the elderly, the Nellinistift with 94 beds, and the work with 120 children in playgroups, kindergarten and day care centers, the diaconal work also includes an outpatient nursing service, helping people at home.
With the project "Praying and working in the middle of a metropolis", women are cordially invited to temporarily join the community. Guests are welcome to stay in one of the 15 guest rooms. Groups may visit the center and use the rooms for conferences and events.
The Diakonissenkirche has a busy Lutheran-influenced spiritual life with daily public Liturgy of the Hours and services on Saturday night and Sunday. The House of Silence provides many spiritual offers on the premises of the Deaconess House Frankfurt.
