For the near future, the General Conference focuses on the following main objectives:
It promotes the development of diaconal work and the founding of diaconal communities in Eastern Europe. To this end, the General Conference prepares a diaconal study tour to Kaliningrad (June 6 – 14, 2012). In addition to this, the 42nd General Conference will take place in Dzi?gielów / Poland in 2014.
It provides a forum for the executives of the diaconal institutions for maintaining the diaconal culture and strengthening the specific Kaiserswerth identity.
It promotes the exchange between the organizations and communities across concrete boundaries of tradition. Members assist each other with local transformational processes.

It promotes the exchange of content and includes members of administrative bodies on the one hand and employees on the other hand in topical events and projects. With these learning and exchange processes, the General Conference contributes to the strengthening of the prophetic voice of Diakonia on an international level.
