Objective and data controller

The protection of the personal data you have provided in the context of the use of our website is an important concern for us. We therefore want to provide you with information about the nature, the scope and the purpose of the collection and the use of data as well as about the use of cookies within our website and the related collection and use of data.

Basic information about the processing of data

Basis of our data processing are the relevant data protection standards, particularly the Church Law on Data Protection of the Evangelical Church in Germany (DSG-EKD).

The term "user" that is used hereinafter, refers to our members, donors or visitors of our website and is meant to be interpreted as being gender neutral.

We process personal data of users only in compliance with the relevant data protection regulations. This means that the personal data of the users will only be used after a legal permit or consent has been obtained.

We take state of the art organizational, contractual and technical security measures, in order to ensure that the provisions of the data protection laws are complied with and in order to protect the data we manage against accidental or intentional manipulation, loss, destruction or access by unauthorized persons.

 


Processing of personal data

In addition to the uses explicitly mentioned in this privacy policy, the personal data of the users are used for the following purposes:

  • the performance of our statutory duties, the performance of our services for the users;
  • technical and business related notifications regarding our offers.

The personal data provided to us online are collected, processed and used only for the purposes communicated in each specific case. Any further collection, processing or use will only be carried out in accordance with the law.

The processing according to Section 6 DSG-EKD is only legitimate if at least one of the following conditions is met:

  1. a legal regulation allows the processing of the personal data or mandates it;
  2. the data subject has consented to the processing of their personal data for one or more specific purposes;
  3. the processing is necessary for the performance of the duties of the data controller, including the exercise of ecclesiastical supervision;
  4. the processing is necessary for the performance of another task in the interest of the church;
  5. the processing is necessary for the performance of a contract to which the data subject is a contractual party or for the performance of any pre-contractual measures taken at the request of the data subject;
  6. the processing is necessary to fulfill a legal obligation of the ecclesiastical authority;
  7. the processing is necessary to protect vital interests of the data subject or any other natural person;
  8. the processing is necessary to safeguard the legitimate interests of a third party, unless the interests worth being protected of the data subject prevail, in particular if the data subject is a minor.

We also transmit data to third parties, if this is based on consent or necessary for accounting purposes (such as conducting bank transactions or sending goods and invoices by mail) or if this is otherwise necessary to fulfill our contractual obligations towards the users.

If we are contacted, the relevant information will be stored for the purpose of processing the request and in case of follow-up questions.

If a possibility is provided within the web presence to enter personal or business data (for example in the context of an order, request or message), the user enters these data on an expressly voluntary basis.

Personal data will be erased once they have fulfilled their purpose and as long as their erasure does not conflict with any retention requirements.

 


Changes to the privacy policy

We reserve the right to change the privacy policy in order to adapt it to changing legal situations or in case of changes in our services or data processing.

Users are therefore asked to take note of the content of the privacy policy on a regular basis, especially if they provide personal information again.

 


Rights of the data subjects

You have the right to receive information about the personal data that we have stored about you, upon request and free of charge.

You have the right to withdraw your consent for the processing of your personal data at any time. The withdrawal of consent does not affect the legitimacy of the processing that was carried out on the basis of the consent prior to the withdrawal.

In justified cases, you have the right to rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and right to object to processing.

Data collection on our web site

Capturing of access data


Scope and purpose of the data processing, legal basis

We collect data about every access to the server hosting this website (so-called server log files). Legal basis is Section 6 (4) DSG-EKD. The access data include the name of the web page that was accessed, the file, date and time of the access, the amount of data transferred, a message about successful access, your browser type and version, the operating system of the user, the URL of the referrer (previously visited page), the IP address and the requesting provider.

We use the log data according to the statutory provisions without connecting them to the person of the user and without any other profiling, solely for statistical analyses for the purpose of operation, security and optimization of the web offer. However, we reserve the right to retrospectively examine the log data if, on the basis of concrete evidence, there is a legitimate suspicion of unlawful use.

The server log files will be stored for 14 days.

 

 

Objection and removal possibility

The collection of the data for the provision of the website and the storage of the data in log files is essential for the operation of the website. There is consequently no possibility for objection on the part of the user.

 


Integration of third party services and contents

Occasionally, third-party content, such as YouTube or Vimeo videos, Google Maps, RSS feeds or images from other websites may be incorporated on our website. This always requires that the providers of this content will be able to read your IP address, as they could not send the content to your browser without the IP address. The IP address is therefore required for the presentation of this content. We make every effort to use only content were the respective providers use the IP address solely for the delivery of the content.


Google Maps

Our website uses an API to provide the map service Google Maps. The Provider is Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheater Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. Social Media buttons

"Share-Links" for sharing our content on Facebook, Google+ or Twitter do not transfer any data to the social networks when our website is accessed. This will only happen after the respective link is clicked.


Use of cookies
Scope and purpose of the data processing, legal basis

Cookies are information that our web server transfers to your web browser and stores on your computer for later access. The legal basis is Section 6 (4) DSG-EKD. Viewing our website is possible without using cookies. If you do not want to have cookies stored on your computer, we ask you to disable the corresponding option in the system settings of your browser. Saved cookies can also be deleted in the system settings of your browser. The exclusion of cookies may result in functional limitations of this website.

Scope and purpose of the data processing, legal basis

Our website features contact forms, which can be used to electronically contact us. If a user uses this option, the data entered in the input fields (such as name, address, telephone, e-mail address) will be transmitted to us and stored. Your consent for the processing of these data is obtained within the scope of the sending process. There is no transfer of your data to third parties. The data is used exclusively for the processing of the conversation. The legal basis for the processing of the data is the presence of a declaration of consent according to Section 6 (2) DSG-EKD.
