Freudenberg – Diakonissenhaus Friedenshort Foundation

The Deaconess House Friedenshort Foundation was founded in 1890 by Eva von Tiele-Winckler (1866 - 1930) in Miechowitz/Upper Silesia. Her objective, to transfer the Christian faith into practice with diaconal services for fellow humans, still defines us today.

"Future for Life – This we believe. This we hope. According to this we act" – the Friedenshort deaconesses and the 1,300 employees in Germany form an active service community under this motto.

Together with its non-profit subsidiaries Evangelische Jugendhilfe Friedenshort GmbH - Heimat für Heimatlose - and Tiele-Winckler-Haus GmbH, the Deaconess House Friedenshort Foundation is active in social-diaconal projects all over Germany in the fields of youth welfare services, work with the disabled and the elderly and in some socio-missionary projects abroad. Board, administration and Mother House are based in Freudenberg (NRW).
